Kirby Muxloe is our main centre and our busiest night. Every Monday evening we run the full pathway out of Kirby Muxloe Football Club — Mini Stars from four years old at 5pm, Pre Academy at 6pm, and our academy age groups at 7pm — and we are looking for a lead coach to take a group of their own.

Which group is yours depends on you. We would rather place a coach where they are strongest than hand out whichever slot happens to be free, so tell us the ages you enjoy most and we will talk about it. If you are better with five-year-olds than with twelve-year-olds, that is useful information, not a weakness.

This is a coaching role, not a supervision role. You will plan and lead the session, hold the group, and be the person parents speak to at the end of the hour, with an assistant coach alongside you and a technical coach available for planning support.

What the role involves

Plan and lead your Monday evening group, working to the academy's syllabus
Take the register and account for every child in your group, every week
Set the session theme and adapt it on the night when the group needs something different
Brief and support your assistant coach
Speak to parents at the end of each session and flag anything that needs following up
Feed into each player's development notes across the season
Cover the occasional session for another coach when we are short

Hours

4 hours per week
Monday evenings, 5–9pm

Essential

UEFA C, or working towards it with a clear timeline
An in-date enhanced DBS — we will process a new one if yours has lapsed
FA Safeguarding Children certification, in date
FA Emergency First Aid in Football, or an equivalent
Available on Monday evenings through the school term
Genuine interest in the players who are not yet the best in the group

Desirable

Experience across more than one age group, from foundation phase upwards
UEFA B, or working towards it
Goalkeeper or futsal badges
Availability for holiday camps in the school holidays, paid at a day rate
Your own transport

What we offer

£20–£25 per hour, paid for the hour you coach
CPD funded — including UEFA B if you want it, with dates worked around your sessions
A capped group, a session plan, and an assistant coach alongside you
Additional paid days on our school holiday camps if you want them

About Star Soccer Academy

We are a Leicestershire football academy running term-time sessions at Kirby Muxloe and Earl Shilton, from Mini Stars at four years old through to our academy age groups. We run one session at a time and we run it properly: capped groups, a plan for every session, and coaches who are paid for the hour they coach.
