Job applicants

This section explains what happens to the information you send us when you apply for a coaching role. Star Soccer Academy is the data controller for it.

What we collect

• Your name, email address and phone number
• The town or postcode you travel from
• Your coaching qualifications, your availability, and what you tell us about your experience
• Your CV, if you attach one
• Which role you applied for, and when

Why we collect it

To consider you for the role you applied for, to contact you about your application, and to satisfy ourselves that anyone coaching children for us holds a current DBS check, safeguarding certification and first aid qualification. We do not use your details for marketing and we will not add you to a mailing list.

Where it is kept, and who sees it

Your application is stored in our own database, and your CV in private storage that is not readable by the public and not linked from anywhere on this website. Only Matt Finnigan and, where a role is at a franchise centre, that centre's owner can see it. We do not share applications with other clubs, recruiters or anybody else, and we do not sell them.

How long we keep it

If your application is unsuccessful we delete it six months after you apply. Your CV is deleted outright and your contact details and everything you wrote are erased from our records. We keep only the role, the centre and the dates, with nothing that identifies you, so that we can count how many people applied for a job — that record cannot be traced back to you.

If we offer you a role and you join us, your details move into your employment file, which is kept separately and for as long as employment law requires.

Deleting your application sooner

You can ask us to delete your application at any time, and you do not have to give a reason. Email matt@starsocceracademy.co.uk from the address you applied with, or tell us which role you applied for, and we will delete it and your CV and confirm when it is done. You can also ask for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
