U13s JPL Lead Coach

Our U13s play in the JPL, the largest national youth football league in England, in its Midlands region — and we are the only club in Leicestershire playing exclusively in the MJPL and JPL.

We are looking for a UEFA B coach to take the U13s as lead: run the Monday session at Bosworth Academy on 3G, and be on the touchline on Saturday. The person who coaches them on Monday is the person who leads them on Saturday.

What the role involves

Plan and lead the Monday U13s session, 7:00–8:30pm, working to the academy curriculum
Lead the squad at Saturday JPL fixtures across the Midlands region — selection, team talk, in-game coaching, post-match review
Write player reviews through the season using our traffic-light review system, with a second coach countersigning
Run and assess trials for the squad
Work with the coaches of the U12s and U14s so players can move between squads

Hours

1½ hours training a week, plus Saturday JPL fixtures
Monday evenings (7:00–8:30pm) and Saturdays

Essential

UEFA B licence
In-date DBS
FA Safeguarding Children, in date
FA Emergency First Aid in Football, or equivalent
Own transport — JPL fixtures involve travel across the Midlands

Desirable

Experience coaching 11v11 in the youth development phase (U12–U16)
Experience of JPL, MJPL or academy-standard football
Video analysis experience (we use VEO)

About Star Soccer Academy

We are a Leicestershire football academy running term-time sessions at Kirby Muxloe and Earl Shilton, from Mini Stars at four years old through to our academy age groups, with our MJPL and JPL squads training at Bosworth Academy in Desford. We run one session at a time and we run it properly: capped groups, a plan for every session, and coaches who are paid for the hour they coach.
